Day 2 of being stuck on board. Strong winds, choppy seas make prospect of going ashore in the dinghy uninviting. Azores weather like that in Scotland, can experience 4 seasons in one day. Heavy rain showers, gales, cold northerly winds only snow is missing, although we did go to bed cold last night. Didn’t expect that in the Azores.
F made the most of his time splicing again, making the guard rails for the gates, the lower one had been missing since the accident and was a great escape route for fenders!

Next job, preparing a preventer for downwind sailing. When the wind is coming from behind the risk of unintentional gybing ( causing boom to crash across from one side to the other) is very great. A system to prevent that is needed. The sewing requires great concentration.
