Left Praia having discovered the biggest festival in Angra has just started. 10 days of celebrating St John the Baptist, Patron Saint of the island. Wondering how much anchoring room there’ll be. Motored all way to charge the somewhat depleted batteries but anchored easily off the beach.
Checked in at the marina, then off to explore. Huge number of food and beer outlets, a stage with a very loud sound check going on. Earplugs needed. Enjoyed some snacks and a beer, watching people pass in their finery.
All the streets are decorated and a marching brass band announced their presence well ahead of making their appearance. A fine sound.
