Stairway to heaven?

A lazy day today - haircut for F, a couple of boat jobs then a walk, late afternoon, up to see the huge statue/beacon, Our Lady of the Immaculate Heart apparently, via the road. Had glorious views of the coastline and enjoyed the avenue of sycamore trees and hydrangeas approaching the monument, but only a few of them were in flower.
The UK and Europe are experiencing higher temperatures than we are. It’s a steady 19-21 degrees during the day, dropping to 17 minimum at night.
Had an amazing view of the bay, marina and the town.
Met our boat neighbour at the monument, a single handed young Frenchman who had come from the Caribbean, also in an aluminium boat, on his way to Santa Maria to lift out for a couple of months. Had a brief chat then came back down the steep steps to the town- too many to go up with our recovering new joints.
