A bad start for A, responsible for the key for the water tank ending up in the drink; despite best efforts with boat hook and up to elbows in the 7 degree water, it sank with its string to sit tantalisingly on the bottom. There is just one spare for water and diesel tanks (Ed. I haven’t let on that any old winch handle will fit. People just tend to tighten it too much with one of those)
Finished clearing the boat and offloading a few items surplus to present requirements. By late morning ready to leave on what seemed to be the first day of summer weather. A in shorts and t shirt for the first time. Left Lewisporte after requisite photos taken by the marina staff who had all looked after us very well.
Set off in glorious sunshine and south westerly winds, a gentle sail with just the yankee.
Very soon the wind went round to the cold north east so motored to the anchorage on Sivier Island. Only 7 miles, but a start.
Chilly again but once anchored enjoyed the sun in the cockpit, protected from the wind. Finished stowing things and getting into the zone again after all this time.
