Wednesday 20th April – Day 3
Started off last evening with a bit of trepidation as a huge black cloud
appeared at sunset on the horizon. Looked like we could get very
wet! Put 2 reefs in the main and a few turns in the genoa just in case the
winds increased significantly, although they were then, only light. As we
approached the cloud it seemed to disperse and then became just quite thin cloud
cover, with no wind! So we spent all night motoring, but the cloud did
clear and we had moonlight until 05.30, and then the sun came up.
Today we have reached the half way stage. – 280nm. The wind has been
more easterly, so we have had an enjoyable downwind sail. We even poled
out the genoa, although this was not without a bit of marital disharmony.
Dinner today is chicken (again) roast with potatoes and peas, and hopefully
another moonlit tranquil night.... |
