With 120 miles left to go we are thwarted by patchy winds, early this morning we had a good run of 12 knot winds on the beam which delivered a good constant 7=8 knots of speed. Gradually this decreased over a few hours until we were making just 3 knots at which time I decided it was engine time! So we are now motoring towards Horta at 6 knots.

The forecast suggests stronger winds as we get closer so fingers crossed, we will pick these up for our final approach. We have lost the rest of the fleet and have not seen any yachts for a few days now just occasional passing cargo ships.

With the loss of Starlink I also have no idea on the progress of the rest of the fleet so we will have to await arrival to find out who’s in and who’s still to arrive, yesterday on the email from Rally Control we were shown as 19th.

Hopefully our last day at sea so will spend a little time whilst we are under motor having a clean up and maybe a final shower before landfall. My ETA after slow progress yesterday has been amended to early hours Tuesday with instructions to anchor up in the harbour until morning.
