Today was as expected a day of motoring, we managed to sail till about 3am in the morning when the sails started to flog as the wind died. We gave in and struck up the motor. Rather annoying was the fact that we have lost use of the auto pilot too as the program seems to have developed an issue and whenever engaged lurches hard right, so we have abandoned use for the moment with another project to sort once safely in Horta.

Certainly, colder climes now we have left the Caribbean and have just finished my shift at 10 am where the stars and moon were stunning now that we have no cloud and just clear skies, looks like the Azores high is well established.

One issue we are having to encounter is the time difference. Ships clock for watches is on Bermuda time whereas Azores time is 3 hours ahead and as we approach, we are trying to adjust mealtimes accordingly which meant dinner this evening was at 5pm which made pre dinner G&Ts at 4:30pm all rather confusing but hopefully we will have transitioned before arrival.

Lots of Dolphin visits today, they always cheer us up with their cheeky grins as they play with the bow of the boat then suddenly disappear and head off to continue whatever they were doing before. Also, today we had a couple of Blue Whale sighting which we impressive.

Forecast is for wind to return by midday tomorrow so everything crossed for that so we can enjoy some quiet sailing into The Azores. 300 miles left
