Anchored at Nisos Mathrika, south of the marina wall. Motored all the way in light headwinds. Crystal clear water. Had a refreshing swim. Joe and I replaced the dinghy davit lift ropes with new 4mm dyneema rope, 700kg breaking strain. I like to change them out each year. Given we have 4 drops, that provides up to 2.8t! Plenty of safety factor for the dinghy. Went ashore in the dinghy into the shallow (1m) marina. Noted a yacht in the marina, on closer inspection the keel and rudder were deep into mud, main sail had been torn to shreds, overall condition beyond the pale. I would suggest she had been abandoned.  Had an excellent meal in the only tavern ashore. Very low profile setting, very verdant green island. I googled annual rainfall and noted this area (Corfu) receives over 1.3m annual rainfall, twice Perth! Returned to Westralia for an early night.

Mathriki marina. Depth is only around 1m to 1.5m. The yacht in the background has is rudder and keel imbedded in the mud. Main sail is torn out. Suggest she is abandoned.

Verdant green hills. The area has good rainfall, +1.3m per year.

Very nice taverna, excellent food. Very low profile island, off the main tourist track. Water is crystal clear.

Westralia at anchor, Mathraki
