Well it really is the best kept secret in
Asia. This part of Borneo has lived up to it's reputation. We have
had a great holiday enhanced by sharing it with our god friends Paul and
Claire. We have seen pygmy elephants, proboscis monkeys, hornbills and
crocodiles all in the wild, and yesterday when visiting the proboscis sacnctuary
we spotted a lone orang Utan sitting in the top of a very tall tree. We
have had very close encounters with Oran utans and Poboscis monkeys in their
respective reserves and we have delved into the WW2 history with visits to Agnes
keith's house (author of Land Below the Wind, and Three Came Home amongst
others) and the war memorial park to the 2500 Australian and British POW's who
died on the forced marches from here to Ranau.
All in all a great
exeperience!
