Currently heading south of a large thunderstorm on
the planned route. The storm is about 15 miles wide, definitely not worth
going through! Made good speed through the night, with speeds up to 8.7kts
with the current. Tide has just truned and we are slowly coming back in speed as
expected. Originally we planned to anchor at the eastern end of SIngapore
harbour and spend the night, so we could transit the harbour in daylight, but
with the moonlight and calm seas we are going to try and negotiate the harbour
overnight. We have motored through Singapore harbour 3 or 4 times now, so
we know the way!
Passed a catamaran this mornig whic we had seen in
Kudat - it has "no limit- pirate.com" painted on the sign, and flies the French
flag. No idea what that is all about, but we got a friendly wave from the
couple on board and their teenage (we think) son.
