The wind and showers howled through Marina
Cay all night necessitating much 'hatch aerobics' - up to close the hatches
during the showers, and then up again to reopen as the heat builds. Still, the
morning dawned bright and there was time for Geoff and Val to fit in a a good
final swim over the reef off Great Camanoe. Before lunch we moved the mile
or so to Trellis Bay, a sheltered anchorage right by the airport runway. Trellis
is an interesting spot. Many of the live-aboard boats hole up here, and
there are a number of arts and craft places ashore, all in all a very
alternative feel - Glastonbury in the sun. After a meander and a lengthy
(liquid) lunch, we haul the bags off the boat, walk up the white coral beach
under the palms and then to the terminal where we bid farewell. We're sad to see
our chums go, but we'll catch up over Christmas in a week or so. The flight is
due out at 5.20, but true to form Liat manage to delay till just before 7.00,
and we see the plane's lights disappear to the east, bound for
St Marteen and then Antigua.
