Eleven hours put paid to the 85 miles between St Francois and English Harbour. It should have been a breeze in a south-easterly and it would have been but for the fact that the sea was just about as confused as the UK government! Hence the ride was unpredictable, lumpy and uncomfortable. However, we set a new record for speed when the water calmed down a bit. 8.7 kt in a 12kt wind - not bad given the 2m seas!

We caught 2 barracuda at the same time and threw them both back since we were not going to eat them.

We saw a couple of whales towards the end and also came a cross 'Patience' a rowing boat that left the Canaries on January the 3rd! The 2 people on board were getting pretty emotional as they got towards the end and they rowed into English Harbour about 5pm that night to the hoots and applause of all the boats.
