We departed Antipaxos at 9:30, after tightening the mainsail halyard. Made our way under motor, 1,600rpm, with the main and jib close hauled towards Syvota. Half way across the light wind swung astern of the boat so no benefit. We laid anchor on the NE corner of Nisis Ag Nikolaos. Took the dinghy ashore for lunch and trip to supermarket then returned to Westralia. Doing some checks below the sole, I noted on the SB fuel tank the same issue with the redundant plug on the PT tank. That is a split in the welded plastic ring and similar fuel loss when the tank was fully topped up. It would appear these thread rings were designed with the split to allow pressing into the tank to secure in place before plastic welding to the tank. The original fuel tank level sensors presumably had a fitting which fully sealed, as opposed to the existing plug which allows fuel to migrate up the plug then vent through the split. Removed the plug, cleaned with acetone and then reinstalled, sealing all with the 3M Scotch-Weld Epoxy Adhesive DP100 Plus.

In the evening we went ashore to a very pleasant restaurant on the shore of the Syvota harbour.

Same issue as port tank. This plug does not fully seal and allows diesel to vent when the tank is fully topped up. Removed, cleaned, reinstalled with 3M epoxy to fully seal.
