It seems like we have been preparing Niord for this trip since we bought her, which I guess we have. Not wanting a repeat of yesterday we decided to stay put rather than head down to Falmouth, and we took the opportunity to finish some last minute preparations before heading into Biscay. Tony particularly wanted to get the satellite communications working, which turned out to be more involved than he thought. In the meantime the crew jumped ship for a much needed shower. When Karen and Tony finally made it ashore, we found them predictably in the King of Prussia sipping ale. There seemed to be a pattern developing quickly on this trip! On arrival, Tony thought he had lost his computer, then realised he must have left it in Niord's cockpit. The water taxi crew took pity on him, and ferried him there and back for free on the strength of tales of our upcoming adventure. Tony and Karen ended up sharing a shower in the Royal Fowey Yacht Club as we did not have enough change for one each (£5 per shower!!). Tony had got emails working on the satellite communications, but not voice, and took the opportunity of the club's wi-fi to download a firmware update. Back aboard Niord Neil, having managed not to blow up the boat, treated us to a wonderful Saint Helenian Plo. Delicious!! Little did we know that this was the last decent meal we were to enjoy before arriving in Spain...
