Nearly home

49:17.1N 07:09.1W Day’s run - 144 miles Yesterday’s cool breeze from the north is today’s warm south westerly, and we are going well with mainsail and cruising chute. It’s great sailing, and sometimes the boat speed surges to 9 knots as we come down a wave, but later on we will reduce to a more sensible rig. At noon we had 160 miles left to go to Now we are on the continental shelf the long ocean swell has stopped, and the colour of the sea has changed from bluey green to greeny blue. We also see more ships and birds, but, alas, the same number of fish. |
