Well Funchal turned out to be such a lovely
spot we stayed for an extra day.
Below is a picture I took in the palace gardens
in Monte, The building in the background used to be a very posh hotel but was
abandoned until recently and is now a museum.
 To get to Monte we took the cable car out of
Funchal. In the distance you can see the harbour breakwater in Funchal with the
marina on the inland side of the harbour.
  Kathy did a great job of recording our visit
here in the traditional style of harbour wall graffiti.
 So now I have to go and reassemble the Hydrovane
and get ready to set sail. We leave Funchal tonight at 1900 for Las Palmas. The
weather forecast predicts calm seas and fair winds, lets hope....
