The passage over night to Dominica (90Nm) was uneventful and we decided to drop anchor in Douglas Bay just north of the main anchorage in Portsmouth.
We were completely alone in the bay and coming from a marina it was a relief with some days of complete solitude. With some swell in the bay beachlanding with the dinghy was not possible and this is where paddleboards come in handy.
If anyone would ask me my favourite fruits ,the answer would be banana and cocos.
Mercedes brought coco nuts onboard and had the patience to open and carve out the meat. Dominica is really something different than Antigua. Lush with djungle and rainforrest it is generally said that if Christopher Columbus would return to the Caribbean today, the only island he would recognise would be Dominica. It´s not an island of white beaches and therefore saved from masstourism.
