Mick and Julie arrived around 14:30 yesterday. I went and organised the passenger list change at the border police office. After settling in, we had a Aperol to welcome Julie and Mick aboard and then we went to Kogaris to watch Sinner and
Shelton in quarter final of Wimbeldon. We had dinner at an excellent seafood restaurant. This morning Julie and Mick did some shopping. Mick and I checked out the bilge pump which was running but not pumping. Following some fault finding, it appears the pump
impellor has failed. I went and bought another at the chandlery. We organised some diesel from the local quay small tanker truck. Disconnected power, water and left the quay at 11:30. Light winds meant we motor sailed from Preveza and south along the west
coast of Levkas in spectacular clear aqua coloured water. As we approached the midway point winds picked up, engine off, under sail in close hauled conditions. Th wind shifted to downwind and rounding the south east point of Levkas we had very strong downwind,
so poled out the genoa for an excellent sail in a large swell to Fiskardo. Anchored and tied off to shore, Mick swimming the stern ropes. After our Aperol and snacks we headed into Fiskardo settlement. Checked in the chandlery for fittings (90 degree elbow)
for the new bilge pump. No luck. Then walked around the town quay before settling for a taverna away from the expensive options. Had an excellent meal, the logic being we each pick a dish and share. We returned to the boat, Mick and I fitted the new bilge
pump, an Ocean 3500, to replace the failed Rule 3700. The Ocean cost 75 Euro and works well. The Rule 3700, which was not available, was priced at plus 350 Euro! Sailing down the west coast of Nisos Levkas. Aqua blue clear water, main and genoa up on a reach Winds came astern, so poled out genoa for a comfortable downwind leg to Fishkardo Fishkardo waterfront
